Have to agree with the Academy...

on the lives of others! It was one of the best movies I've watched recently and definitely deserved the Oscar for best foreign movie (and I am, like, in love with Pan's labyrinth, so this really means something)... It's a bit long, but is totally worth your time. No matter where you live, there are always good people around to help you.

i watched it because of mostly martha, i couldn't believe it won, so unlike the academy to celebrate a movie like that...

I was no less than shocked when del Toro's great movie lost out, but I haven't seen Lives of Others yet ... Pan's Labyrinth was easily my favorite movie of 2006, so it's got to be pretty darn good to beat that .. I plan to find out as soon as possible

i watched pan's labyrinth last night. can't get the score out of my head. i've been humming it non-stop. i didn't exactly fall in love with the movie itself. i liked it alright but didn't understand why everyone is making a big fuss about it.
but then i've never been a fan of fantasies so nothing personal against your beloved el Laberinto del Fauno!

Shahin,

What's mostly martha?

Reel fanatic,

I hear you on Pan's, but believe me, this movie deserved it. The genre is so different that you can not really compare them together, they're both great movies if you ask me.

Negar,

Well, you see, I live in a fantasy world myself (and I think I still believe in fairies and fauns) so you can imagine how i felt about Pan's labyrinth. And that lullaby melody puts a spell on you I think. I was humming it for quite a while too!
